The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) on March 06, 2026, issued the Draft Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Framework for Resource Adequacy) Regulation, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• It aims to establish a structured framework for ensuring a reliable electricity supply in the state. The regulation requires distribution licensees to forecast demand, procure adequate generation capacity, and maintain planning reserve margins while meeting reliability indicators such as Loss of Load Probability (LOLP).
• It also aims to ensure an optimal mix of power sources, including renewables, storage, and flexible resources, reduce dependence on short-term markets, strengthen grid resilience, and support long-term power planning.
• The comments, suggestions, and objections on the Draft Regulation, if any, may be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to the Commission’s office at Kurnool, to reach the undersigned by March 27, 2026.
